KINDNESS AT CHRISTMAS. HOPE ALL YEAR ROUND.

Christmas is often a time of warmth, joy, and happy memories. But for many in our community, the festive season can be a difficult reminder of hardship, loneliness or uncertainty. At The Lighthouse, our mission is to bring light into the lives of those who are struggling before, during, and after Christmas.

Join our story as we look to make a significant difference to many individuals during this special time of year, and into the future.

Right now, more local people than ever need practical support. Your kindness this Christmas can make sure help from The Lighthouse is accessible to those in need all year round.
  • A gift of £25 could help give Christmas essentials including food, toiletries, clothing, and winter warming items like hot water bottles and cosy blankets.

  • A gift of £50 could help give Christmas treats, like brand new toys for children, party clothes, and wrapped gift sets.

  • A gift of £100 could help give Christmas cheer, through essential clothing, shelter and companionship, a delicious hot Christmas meal, and much more.

Donations will be unrestricted and used towards all Christmas Kindness initiatives, as well as general Lighthouse projects which serve the need within our community all year round.

LIONEL'S STORY: A LIFE TRANSFORMED AT CHRISTMAS
Last winter, Lionel was sleeping rough after losing his job and home. The cold nights were the hardest, but what stayed with him the most was the loneliness. When he came to The Lighthouse, he was welcomed with warmth, a meal, and a smile - simple acts of kindness through the toughest days.

"My difficult times when I was homeless passed a little easier because of The Lighthouse. My mental health was relatively stable because of the warm welcome I received from every member of staff."

That Christmas, Lionel shared dinner at The Lighthouse with others in similar situations - the first time in months he'd felt part of something.

Having received additional practical support, he has stability, increased confidence, believes he has something valuable to contribute, and now volunteers at The Lighthouse to help others find hope for their future, just as he has.

Kindness at Christmas. Hope All Year Round.
Your support helps make stories like Lionel's possible, offering warmth, community, practical help, and a place to belong when it's needed most.

*Lionel's story reflects the real experience of one of our guests, but his name has been changed to protect his identify.
