Back to School is changing this year to 'Back Together with The Lighthouse & Emmaus Rd'
This summer, The Lighthouse and Emmaus Rd are partnering to support local families through a fun, welcoming community event.
As part of Emmaus Rd’s Family Fun Day on Sunday 5th July held at Christ's College. The Lighthouse team will be hosting a special Lighthouse Lounge. We'll be sharing information about our projects and support we offer throughout the year, alongside hospitality and free backpacks for families preparing for the summer holidays and new school year. There'll be a free BBQ, bouncy castles and lots more!
Rather than collecting large volumes of clothing this year, we are focusing on filling backpacks with practical school supplies and summer activity items for children and young people.

We are currently collecting:
Pencil cases
Pens, pencils and colouring supplies
Notebooks and stationery
Children’s activity packs
Small games
Craft supplies
Summer activity ideas/items
We would welcome donations of new items that would help children feel encouraged, prepared and cared for. Please only donate items that are new and in excellent condition.
Donations can be dropped off at The Lighthouse during our opening hours (Term time only):
Monday, Wednesday & Thursday: 10:30am–12:00pm
Tuesday: 5:30pm–7:30pm
If you are arriving by car, please drive to Pannells Court, GU1 4EU. Our back entrance is the last door on the right. Just ring the bell.
The only reason that The Lighthouse can run Back to School is because of our generous community of donors, fundraisers and volunteers.
